Vitoria de Guimaraes will hold elections for social bodies on Saturday, with four candidates for the presidency. The elections for the social bodies of the club, scheduled for Saturday, bring together 13,611 members who meet the requirements to vote, informed this Thursday the I Liga club. The Unidade Vimaranense Sports Pavilion will host, between 09:00 and 19:00, the General Electoral Assembly of the minhotos, which admits the participation of all members over 18 years old and more than one year of affiliation in the club, who have paid the quota related to May until 31 May and who present the June quota paid on the day of the vote. List A, headed by Belmiro Pinto dos Santos, List B, by Júlio Vieira de Castro, List C, by Viriato Sampaio, and List D, by Rui Rodrigues, compete for social bodies for the triennial period between 2026 and 2029, in a scrutiny with a record of candidates in the history of the emblem vimaranense. In the previous ballot, held on March 1, 2025, in which the now demissionary president, António Miguel Cardoso, defeated Luís Cirilo Carvalho, there were 12,787 members registered in the electoral rolls. The elections of Saturday, in which each member has the right to one vote, take place due to the resignation of António Miguel Cardoso, formalized on April 14, after the leader promised to leave the leadership of Vitoria if the main football team did not reach one of the top five positions in the 2025/26 I Liga edition, which happened, with the ninth place.
