Vitoria de Guimaraes elected Rui Rodrigues as new president, who won the elections by two votes. The businessman and accountant takes over the presidency of the Guimarães club for the triennial period between 2026 and 2029. Rui Rodrigues was vice-president of the previous board and vice-president of the Fiscal Council between 2022 and 2024. He was chosen to take over the presidency of the club after the departure of António Miguel Cardoso, who was president for four years. The Vitoria SC elections took place at the Pavilhão Desportivo Unidade Vimaranense and were attended by 6642 members. Rui Rodrigues received the preference of 2028 voters, while Viriato Sampaio obtained 2026 votes. Belmiro Pinto dos Santos and Júlio Vieira de Castro also ran in the elections, but received fewer votes. The scrutiny took place between 9:00 and 19:00 and included 148 blank votes and 21 nulls. The turnout at the polls was 48.8% of the eligible members to vote.
